I wanted to do something like a New Years Eve party to celebrate the end of 2023 and had originally planned a different video, but I had to shelve an already finished gruesome version of ABBA's video for "Happy New Year" and come up with something new after my wife, a big ABBA fan, vetoed my video before I published it.
Due to my recent Trololo of the Dead project, I was steeped in old meme videos and Vitas' 7th Element came up in my feed and I had my eureka moment.
Vitas' video is already incredibly alien and bizarre in its own right, so extending it with a little audio and visual enhancement just amplified the weirdness that is already there. I think this turned out to be a perfect choice to ring in the new year.
